Food and Tea a wonderful journey of taste

Today is a special day. Do you ask me why? Because the time has come for you to find out some secrets about yourself and about the tea you often drink. You just love tea don't you?
You love those rainy mornings when preparing breakfast you open your favorite book and the main character inspires you to add to your ritual a cup of tea.

What to choose?

White tea with that smooth flavor that makes you feel always comfortable with yourself, that makes you dream and brings you light?

Or maybe Green, subtle and powerful in the same time. It wakes you up, it makes you feel alive and bright.

Now your eyes drop on the Oolong tea box because of the real taste which gives you confidence.

You have also in your mind a robust Black tea combined with fruits flavors that can penetrate even the most pessimistic thoughts in the world.

I sincerely would like to ease your little conflicts from your mind. I suggest you to choose the type of tea, simply considering the recipe you have in your plan for cooking.

First let me remind you the great healthy properties that this ancient drink has and the benefits that brings to your organism.

1. Powerful antioxidant

Tea contains special molecules which are well known antioxidants that keep you young and healthy. These antioxidants fight successfully with cancer and bad cholesterol, protect your heart and boost immunity.

2. Clarity of mind

Tea helps you keep your mind clear and calm, reduces stress and removes anxiety. Tea speeds up metabolism, improves memory and helps you to be always focused and alert.

3. Excellent for meditation

Tea also enhances the state of meditation and calm because reduces blood pressure. Nowadays, in this fast and crowded world we all need some time for ourselves to heal the anxiety we have inside, to detach from all the objects and relationships and to connect with the true universal energy.

3. Good and healthy energizer

Everything is energy, even our food and drinks. Anything that we introduce in our organism influences in a good or a less good way the level and quality of our energy.

That is why it is so important to concentrate while you are cooking your food and while you are combining all the elements. Yes indeed drinking wine with food is a tradition spread all over the globe. But have you tried Tea? The principle is exactly the same, having an adventure in flavors, and this time without alcohol. Maybe sometimes you are not in the mood fo getting a little dizzy after your meal and still you need something liquid to give power to the taste of food.

Tea is a wonderful companion of food because it cleanses your palate and prepares your senses for the next course. Tea may be just a mid-course, a little conversation until the next dish or tea directly compensates the flavor and the story of the recipe.
If you are a wine fan you know for sure terms as acidity, texture, flavor and body. Tea applies the same principles.

Now, for sure you wonder : which tea and which food are best friends? Some say that a good pairing means similar tastes, other say that complementary ones are the most important. It is a matter of preferences after all. The beautiful part of pairing tea with food is that you have unlimited combinations and you can use your imagination and sensitivity to prepare a whole inspiring meal.

Let's see some basic combination in order for you to start the magic art of combining food and tea. For example white tea because of its subtle flavor, goes very well with rice and easy spring salads. The green tea is also mild and smooth and it can be paired with seafood, salads, rice and chicken.

Oolong tea can be lightly, medium or even fully oxidized. Generally you can drink Oolong with lobster, sweet foods, duck and grilled meats, desserts and fruits.

The Black tea is a good friend with full flavored foods like meat, spicy
Mexicans, Italian food, even Indian or Turkish dishes. The list can continue with salmon, breakfast foods, chocolate and creamy desserts.

Finally, Pu-erh tea is well known for the digestive benefits. It goes very good with foods with a high quantity of fat, oily foods, red meats and stir-fries.

If your breakfast consists of omelets, sausage and bacon, than the perfect tea will be a black one, for example an Assam Beast of the East or a Ceylon Ray of Sunlight

If you prefer a lighter breakfast with cookies and biscuits try a Darjeeling Sunrise. Even if it is also a black tea is not that robust and strong.

What are you having for lunch? Look at the main dish. If you prefer
fish or seafood than try a green tea as Bancha or Genmaicha. Also green tea goes very well with cheese, Dragron Well for hard cheese and a Formosa Jade for brie. If you choose chicken you can combine it with a Criss Cross green tea from China, while fried chicken or duck, meat and lamb pairs with an Assam black tea.

An easy salad pairs nicely with a green tea as Green Celebration. If the salads has consistent ingredients as eggs, tuna, olives, then try a Golden Himalaya.
There are unlimited options when it comes to pairing tea with food. After all we can let ourselves be guided by our intuition, smell and palate and innovate. The world of tea is so large and friendly and waits for you to discover it.

You can start with a simple, elegant white tea when you meet your dearest friend. You can continue with a bold green tea, when you have an important meeting and you need to feel the energy flowing through your veins. A black tea is for your profound moments when you get deep with yourself and you are eager to discover something new. Herbal and fruits flavors are for your lovely relationship with your inner child and with your childhood.

All your experiences are there, waiting for you at the border between good food and a wonderful tea.
